Appointed as county prosecutor in 2002, Molinelli has come under scrutiny in the past several months, due in part to allegations that he wrongly allowed Dr. Gangaram Ragi, a Teaneck dermatologist, to enter a pretrial intervention after he allegedly assaulted women patients, The Record reported.
According to sources cited by PolitickerNJ, Molinelli’s resignation is connected to the Ragi case. It is the latest in a string of bad press for Molinelli.

A state appellate panel tossed out former Hackensack Police Chief Ken Zisa’s conviction and described the Molinelli’s prosecution against him as “weak and tainted by prejudicial and improper remarks and evidence,” The Record reported.
The resignation has not been officially confirmed. No announcement has been e-mailed or posted on the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office’s website or the office’s Twitter account.
