Trans-Siberian Orchestra lead electric violinist visits New Milford High School
The New Milford School District Orchestra, comprised of students in grades four through 12, performed Tuesday evening with Mark Wood, lead electric violinist with the Trans-Siberian Orchestra.
New Milford orchestra students and music teachers performed with Wood, one of the original members of the multi-platinum selling Trans-Siberian Orchestra, in "Electrify Your Strings."
Wood is also the creator of Viper electric violins.
Mark Wood is the owner and operator of Wood Violins, one of the largest electric violin manufacturing companies in the world. According to a press release, he studied under Maestro Leonard Bernstein, and is a Juilliard-trained violinist and Emmy-winning composer who composed string arrangements for Celine Dion and others.

In addition to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, he has worked with Lenny Kravitz, Billy Joel, Everclear, and many others.
Tickets sold for $10 and proceeds went to the New Milford School District music programs.
