Berkeley Heights Local Among 3 Charged With DWI: NPPD

New Providence Police also reported arresting two Springfield locals on charges of terroristic threats.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — A Berkeley Heights local was among three people to be arrested for driving while intoxicated in New Providence, police report.

On March 31: Patrolman Nicholas Guerriero arrested Raphael Plaszcymaka, 30, of Berkeley Heights for driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to breath tests, obstruction of the administration of law and receiving stolen property. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Diamond Hill Road. Plaszcymaka was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

On April 1: Patrolman Nicholas Guerriero arrested Lavita Lewis, 53, of Cambridge, Massachusetts for driving while intoxicated. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Diamond Hill Road. Lewis was released pending a future court appearance.

On April 9: Patrolman Nicholas Guerriero arrested Gilberth Ordonez-Umana, 36, for driving while intoxicated. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Springfield Avenue. Ordonez-Umana was released pending a future court appearance.

On March 22: Detective Thomas Hoppe charged and arrested Rayvon Wilson, 19, of Springfield for terroristic threats and criminal restraint. The charges stemmed from an investigation into an incident that took place at a residence in the borough earlier in the week. Wilson was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on South St. Bail was posted and Mr. Calderon-Urea was released pending future court appearances.

On April 1: Patrolman Nicholas Guerriero arrested Toney Cannon, 64, of Cambridge, Massachusetts for possession of marijuana 50 grams or less and possession of paraphernalia. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Diamond Hill Road. Cannon was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

On April 4: Patrolman Christian Cely arrested Antonio Scuderi, 45, of Bensalem Township, Pennsylvania for possession of marijuana 50 grams or less. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on South Street. Scuderi was processed and released pending a future court appearance.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation into a report of a suspicious person at the Murray Hill Train Station. Hall was processed and released pending future court appearances.

On April 6: Patrolman Jeffrey Bruder arrested Sofia Vannostrand, 34, of Scotch Plains on an active warrant out of Plainfield. The arrest stemmed from a motor vehicle stop on Mountain Avenue. Vannostrand posted bail and was released pending a future court appearance.

On April 9: Patrolman Joseph DiParisi arrested Erika Gray, 23, of Newark on an active warrant out of New Providence. Gray was arrested on the warrant in Mountainside and she was turned over to Patrolman DiParisi. Gray posted bail and was released pending a future court appearance.
