Donations Needed to Create Safe, Fun Union County Graduation Party

A local mom is raising donations to offer high school seniors of Union County a safe and fun graduation party.

Union County, NJ -- Donations are needed to create a fun, safe experience for Union County graduates.

The Union County Vocational Technical, Academy of Information Technology and Academy of Allied Health & Science are looking to once again host its project graduation.

“The project graduation was created in response to kids going to graduation parties and drinking,” Stacy McAnulty, UCTECH Project Graduation Committee told Patch. “Project graduation is really a fun, safe way to keep kids from doing that. And if you get enough of their friends together to celebrate, I think it can be a wonderful thing.”

The UCTECH Project Graduation Committee is looking to raise $1,000 to help fund this event. With funding lower this year, the committee is hoping to get donations through the community.

McAnulty of Fanwood, has reached out to many businesses in the Union County area to help fund the event and has already raised $250 on her own.

All money donated will fund the event which includes entertainment and goody bags.

“I am glad my daughter is going to this and want other kids to be able to enjoy the same,” McAnulty said.
