A lightning strike that hit Berkeley Heights town hall has caused elevated carbon monoxide readings inside the building: police

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ — Elevated carbon monoxide readings inside the Berkeley Heights Town Hall and Police Department have caused the buildings to close Wednesday, Berkeley Heights Police report.
"The source has been identified as a UPS backup system that sustained damage in Monday night's storm after a lightning strike at Town Hall," police report.
Berkeley Heights Fire, New Providence Fire and Union County Hazmat are on scene tending to the situation.
