Registration for New Providence Recreation Spring Sports Going on Now

Registration for New Providence Recreation’s 2011 Baseball, Softball & T-ball Leagues is now open and runs through Sunday, February 13.  The link to Online Registration and additional information can be found at www.newprov.org/recreation.

The cost to participate is $80.00 per player (after Feb. 13, a late fee of $20.00 will be charged). Cost for the 7th and 8th Grade Boys (Ages 13 – 15) Suburban Senior League is $110.00.

Offerings include a co-ed T-ball league for Kindergarteners and coach-pitch leagues for boys and girls in 1st and 2nd grades. These leagues each meet twice per week.

For older girls, softball is divided into three leagues: 3rd & 4th grade fast-pitch (two nights per week), 5th & 6th grade fast-pitch (three nights per week) and 7th & 8th grade fast-pitch.

For the older boys, three leagues are also offered. The 3rd & 4th grade and 5th & 6th grade leagues meet three nights per week. For 7th - 9th grade boys (ages 13 -15), a multi-town league with Berkeley Heights, and Mountainside, was created last year. This league plays one game during the week and one game on the weekend.

Volunteer coaches are the backbone of the Recreation sports programs and are needed at every level! The season begins April. Younger leagues finish up in late May while older leagues complete play-offs in early June.
