Girls Hoops Team Improves Record to 7-0

Elizabeth came to Berkeley heights Friday with a 1-5 record and a chance to upset the #19 in the state, and at the end of the first half there was optimism on the Minutewomen bench, trailing 23-20.

But in another workmanlike effort, the Gov. Livingston Lady Highlanders slowly edged away to a 52-41 victory, improving to 7-0 on the season while keeping their Top 20 status intact.

Sparked by a balanced scoring attack, GL was paced by the sharp shooting Sam Dowling, who buried 4 three-pointers in the contest. Erin Ferguson (12 points) and Alyssa Polimeni (10 points) also finished in double figures, while Becca Johnson and Mallory George finished with 7 apiece.
