GL Varsity Hoops Team Now 16-0

Lady Highlanders survive first half scare from New Providence.

 

With the target squarely on their backs, the Gov. Livingston girls basketball team knows that every opponent will putting up their best effort in trying to post the first blemish on GL's perfect record.

Yesterday, it was neighboring New Providence who gave it a whirl -- holding a 17-13 lead at halftime before the Highlanders came out with a second half onslaught -- outscoring their opponents 22-5 in the third quarter, on their way to a 44-28 victory to improve to 16-0 on the season.

GL, ranked 19th in the state poll, was paced by Alyssa Polimeni's 12 points and 7 assists, while Mallory George finished with 11 points.

Erin Ferguson (9 points), Becca Johnson (6 points) and Alyssa Cranston (6 points), all chipped in with strong efforts on both ends of the floor.
