New Providence School Named 2017 National Blue Ribbon Winner
Only 17 New Jersey schools were named as a National Blue Ribbon School for 2017.

NEW PROVIDENCE, NJ — Congrats to the Academy of Our Lady Of Peace! The U.S. Department of Education has named the New Providence, non-public school as one of the 2017 National Blue Ribbon Schools.
Academy of Our Lady Of Peace in New Providence was only one of two schools from Union County to receive this honor. The Academy for Allied Health Sciences in Scotch Plains also made the list.

Academy of Our Lady Of Peace, located at 99 South St. in New Providence is part of the Archdiocese of Newark District.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes outstanding schools including: public schools including charter schools, magnet/choice schools, Title I schools and non-public schools including parochial and independent schools.

Using standards of excellence evidenced by student achievement measures the USDOE honors high-performing schools and schools that are making great strides in closing any achievement gaps among student groups.
Awarded schools will be honored at an annual awards ceremony in Washington, D.C., where each receives a plaque and flag to signify its exemplary status.
