Grum Shows True Leadership for GLHS Hockey Team.

It was on the rush early in the third period, and Ryan Grum wound up for a slap shot with the opposing defenseman backing up.
Grum let the shot rip and the puck looked to be on target for a goal before angling upward and passing just over the crossbar for a near-miss. The senior forward did finish the game with a goal, but the result after 45 minutes was a 9-6 loss to Parsippany, which left Gov. Livingston with a 1-7 record.

Mustangs Bring U-10 Baseball Championship Back to Mountainside.
The boys of the Mustang Travel Sports Club U10 baseball team took home the title of Wooden Bat Challenge Tournament Champions earlier this year from Chester, NY., finishing the four-game tournament undefeated. Read full story: http://patch.com/A-htsF

SPOTLIGHT: Jon Robbins, Governor Livingston GK. The senior goalkeeper and co-captain was outstanding during the Highlanders 18-win season.
Robbins had 3 shutouts in Governor Livingston’s first 3 games. One to remember was the second game of the year vs. Watchung Hills. Robbins made two huge saves in the 2nd half to lead GL to a 1-0 victory along with the support of a great defensive display from his team. GL Seniors Honored at Thanksgiving Day Football Game
Prior to the New Providence- Gov. Livingston football game, Governor Livingston honored seniors from both the football and cheerleading squads as well as the school’s champions from the Spring 2011 season. The Highlanders’ baseball squad, pole vault state champion Anthony Franco and state golf champion Scotland Preston (the golfer also won the 2011 NJ Women’s Amateur championship). Governor Livingston Defeats Scotch Plains in Season Opener. The Highlanders rode double digit runs to start and end the game to hold off a talented Scotch Plains squad.
Logan Kelly scored 20 points as Governor Livingston won their season opener 58-42 over Scotch Plains. The senior guard proved that he has the ability to get to the basket at will and provided the Highlanders with key baskets down the stretch. Read full story: http://patch.com/A-p5lw
