Oakland Animal Refuge Receives National Honor

Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge was named one of 30 animal shelters nationwide that make America proud.

OAKLAND, NJ — The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge has been named one of 30 animal shelters nationwide that make America proud.

The shelter was created 30 years ago when the Bergen Animal Rescue Inc. and the Ramapo Animal Refuge Inc. merged.

"Rescue, rehabilitation, medical care, a no-kill policy, and finding new owners – RBARI does it all," topdogtips.com said of the organization.

"We are proud of who we are, and the work that we do and we just wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of you who make it possible," RBARI said on its Facebook page.

RBARI recently rescued 12 severely matted and abandoned dogs found in a Paterson home.
