100K At Wildwood Trump Rally? Officials Still Developing Plans
Congressman Jeff Van Drew claimed about 100,000 have requested tickets.

WILDWOOD, NJ — President Donald Trump's Wildwood rally has received about 100,000 ticket requests, according to Congressman Jeff Van Drew. Local officials will meet Wednesday to develop definite answers for logistics.
The Wildwoods Convention Center can hold up to 7,400 people, so officials will likely need plans for overflow. The rally begins at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, but doors will open at 3 p.m.
Wildwood police hope to provide answers Wednesday afternoon about assembly locations and times, parking, prohibited items and other general info.

"The goal of the Wildwood Police Department is to ensure the safety of those in attendance while allowing visitors to exercise their First Amendment right to free speech and peaceful assembly," Wildwood PD said in a statement.
Local officials expected major overflow for President Trump's rally. Cape May County spokesperson Diane Wieland heard estimates last week of close to 20,000 ticket requests. Read more: Trump Rally: Officials Expect Major Overflow In Wildwoods Center

That estimate has grown. About 100,000 tickets have been requested so far, Van Drew said Sunday in a Fox News interview. Van Drew and President Trump will travel to the rally on Air Force One.
"He’s coming to support me and my reelection," Van Drew told Fox News. "He’s coming to support his issues, and we are really proud to have him."
Wildwood has about 5,000 year-round residents. But the city has 150,000 people on any given summer day, Wieland said.
Patch will report updates on logistics. Wildwood police will also post updates on social media and Nixle.
