Proceeds will help provide care for some animals with special needs including special beds for dogs that are lame or suffering debilitating injuries or illness.
HSOC will also take a number of dogs that were scheduled to be euthanized at other shelters, and give them a “critical second chance,” HSOC Executive Director Bill Hollingsworth said.

“This is the eighth year for this event, and we’re grateful to Playland’s Castaway Cove’s Scott Simpson and Brian Hartley who have been very generous and supportive of our efforts,” Hollingsworth said. “This is a really nice event and also a nice way to honor Scott’s father, David ‘Chief’ Simpson, who was on the Humane Society’s board of directors when we were first starting out.”
Wristbands can be purchased at Playland’s Castaway Cove at the start of the event.
Playland’s Castaway Cove is located at 1020 Boardwalk in Ocean City.
