SOUTH DENNIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — A girl was trafficked to a retired state correction officer's home, where he planned to have sex with her for money, the New Jersey Office of Attorney General said. Three people were charged after the girl was trafficked in an unnamed Atlantic City casino hotel and other parts of South Jersey.

Tiffany Davis, of Egg Harbor Township, and Derrick Ross, of Atlantic City, were charged Nov. 27 with human trafficking, promoting child prostitution and child endangerment, the OAG said.

Kurt Young, of South Dennis Township, was charged Tuesday with sexually assaulting a child under 16 and engaging in prostitution with a minor, officials said.

Young arranged with Davis for the girl to be transported to his home for sex in exchange for money, the OAG said. Young, 52, is a retired state correction officer. It was not immediately clear when this incident occurred.

During the trafficking investigation, State Police responded by phone to an online "escort" ad. The person who answered agreed she would meet the undercover detective at a casino hotel in Atlantic City.

Police recovered the victim Nov. 27 when she arrived at the hotel and offered to have sex with the undercover officer.

Authorities connected the victim to support services. She is not related to either of them.

Ross was arrested later that day after authorities determined he transported the victim to the hotel. Further investigation showed Davis placed online ads to traffic the victim to several men throughout November, with Ross's help, the OAG said. Davis and Ross split the money generated, according to authorities.

"This case involves a situation that is tragically all too familiar, where a vulnerable young victim is trapped in a life of sexual slavery," said Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal.
