Hurricane Dorian: Ocean City Under High Surf, Flood Advisories
Hurricane Dorian will be well out into the sea, but it will impact Ocean City.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Hurricane Dorian will be well out into the sea, but it will impact Ocean City. The city was placed under advisories for coastal flooding and high surf.
The flooding advisory is in effect from 1-7 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service. Water levels are expected to peak around high tide on the bay side at 2:55 p.m. Forecasters project a tide of 5.7 feet on the mean low water scale, which qualifies as "minor" tidal flooding.
Residents should monitor conditions and be prepared to move vehicles from flood-prone areas. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation. And never attempt to drive through floods or around barricades.
