OCEAN CITY, NJ — There's a lot of news to keep up with right now — locally, nationally and worldwide. Here's a recap of coronavirus updates in Ocean City and Cape May County.

Here are Ocean City's coronavirus figures as of Thursday morning, per the Cape May County Health Department. Figures in parenthesis represent information from Ocean City Patch's last update Sept. 8.

  • community deaths: one (one)
  • non-resident active cases: zero (zero)

  • longterm-care facility deaths: two (five)

Here are Cape May County's figures as of Thursday morning — Sept. 8's numbers in parenthesis:

  • community cases cleared off quarantine: 869 (794)
  • community deaths: 28 (28)
  • non-resident active cases: six (19)
  • longterm-care facility active cases: eight (nine)

Recent Updates

  • State officials took young people to task on Wednesday for allowing the coronavirus to spread "substantially," saying the spike in cases among their age groups will impact New Jersey's reopening plans.
