OCEAN CITY, NJ — There's a lot of news to keep up with right now — locally, nationally and worldwide. Here's a recap of coronavirus updates in Ocean City and Cape May County.
Cases
The Cape May County Health Department has reported four active coronavirus cases in Ocean City as of Thursday morning. Forty-two people have been cleared off quarantine in Ocean City, and two people have died from the virus.

Officials have reported 99 active cases, 594 people cleared off quarantine and 68 deaths in Cape May County as of Thursday morning. That includes 30 active cases, 143 cleared off quarantine and 48 deaths associated with longterm-care facilities.

- Testing locations for COVID-19 now include Cape Regional Urgent Care in Wildwood, Marmora, and Cape May Court House, Cape Regional Hospital, Complete Care Health Network and CVS in Seaville. Proof of insurance is not needed at the Cape Regional Urgent Care locations.
- Shore Medical Center now offers tests to determine whether patients have antibodies to the coronavirus. All asymptomatic individuals are eligible for the blood test. MORE.

Recent Updates
- Officials around Cape May County, including all 16 mayors, issued an "urgent request" for all to wear face coverings in public. Cape May County has remained below critical thresholds for coronavirus cases, but officials expect an influx of visitors in July and August. MORE.
- Gov. Phil Murphy's decision to not allow indoor dining to proceed this week is "potentially devastating" for local restaurants, according to the Ocean City Boardwalk Merchants Association. MORE.
- Ocean City has canceled special events through July because of coronavirus concerns, including Fourth of July events and Night in Venice. MORE.
- Now that state officials have offered guidance on reopening schools in the fall, the Ocean City School District plans to make greater use of the outdoors, including beaches, the boardwalk and wetlands. Read Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Taylor's letter below:
