Ocean City Field Hockey Team Wins South Jersey Title With 2-0 Win Over Hammonton

The Red Raiders will now compete in the state tournament, according to nj.com.

The Ocean City High School field hockey team not only handed Hammonton its first loss of the season, it left the Blue Devils wanting for a goal in the process.

Ocean City defeated Hammonton, 2-0, to win the South Jersey Group III title this week, according to nj.com.

Jordan Allegretto and Rialee Allen provided the Red Raiders with the goals, one in each half.

The Red Raiders, which entered the South Jersey Group III playoffs as the No. 2 seed, will now compete in the state tournament.

Ocean City is now 21-1 this season. Ocean City’s only defeat this season came at the hands of traditional power Eastern Regional (22-0).

The South Jersey final saw the lowest goal output of the playoffs for Ocean City, which outscored its first two opponents 21-0.

Ocean City opened the playoffs with an 8-0 win over Mainland., followed by a 13-0 win over Central Regional.
