Ocean City High School Baseball Team Wins Program's Second South Jersey Title
The Red Raiders won the title with a 5-0 win over Highland on Friday.

Ocean City, NJ -- Sean Mooney struck out 10 batters, walked none and allowed just three hits to lead the Ocean City High School baseball team to a South Jersey championship on Friday, according to nj.com.
The top-seeded Red Raiders defeated second-seeded Highland Regional, 5-0, in the finals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 playoffs.Â
Ocean City will face Central Jersey Group 3 champion Nottingham in the State Group 3 semifinals at Cumberland County College on Tuesday.

Dom Fiorentino was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBI and two runs for Ocean City.

Mooney improved to 9-0 this season without giving up an earned run, according to The Press of Atlantic City. His ERA is 0.00. He has 96 strikeouts and 10 walks this season. Friday’s win was the fifth complete game shutout for the St. John’s recruit, who also has 100 career hits.
It was the second South Jersey title for the Ocean City High School baseball program, according to the Ocean City Gazette. The first came in 2010.
Ocean City’s first run came in the first inning, but the bats fell silent until the fifth inning, when they came alive for four more runs.
Ocean City opened the playoffs with a 13-5 win over No 16 Absegami.
They followed their win with a 6-0 win over No. 9 Central Regional.
In the semifinals, they defeated No. 4 Mainland, 3-2.
