Ocean City Seeks Volunteers For Boards And Commissions
Ocean City officials are seeking volunteers to fill seats on some boards and commissions for 2018.

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City officials are seeking volunteers to fill seats on the following boards and commissions for 2018:
Aviation Advisory Board
Duties/Responsibilities: The board serves in an advisory capacity to the City Council and Administration in regard to the operation of the Ocean City Municipal Airport. It consists of seven members, including five appointed by council, a council representative and the mayor.
Meetings: On an as-needed basis.
Historic Preservation Commission

Meetings: 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at City Hall.
Environmental Commission
Click here for the commission’s duties and responsibilities.
Meetings: 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at Howard S. Stainton Senior Center.
Zoning Board
Duties/Responsibilities: To hear appeals from decisions of an administrative official related to development applications, and to hear applications for relief from provisions of the local zoning ordinance.City Council appoints seven regular members and two alternate members. Regular member appointments are four year terms, and alternate member appointments are two year terms.
Meetings: 7 p.m. on the third and fourth Wednesday of each month at City Hall.
Shade Tree Committee
Duties/Responsibilities: The Shade Tree Committee is involved with the regulation, planting, planning and care of shade and ornamental trees and shrubbery on any public street, park or property in Ocean City. The committee consists of seven members appointed by the mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council. All appointments are for four year terms.
Meetings: 9 a.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month at City Hall.
