Spring Block Party In Ocean City Next Weekend

OCEAN CITY, NJ — Ocean City’s premier spring event returns next weekend. The Spring Block Party will bring 350 crafters, food vendors, musicians and kids’ activities to a mile of downtown Asbury Avenue between Fifth Street and 14th Street. It will be held rain or shine from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 6.

Downtown stores are open for business and also have table sales out front. Pony rides for children will be available 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds of the Ocean City Tabernacle.

As part of this year’s Block Party, Philadelphia legends the Trammps, the Dovells, and Blue Notes will perform. The concert will take place on the Music Pier on Saturday, May 6, 7 p.m.

Boardwalk and Downtown Merchant Table Sales are scheduled for the same weekend, May 6 and May 7. They will be between Sixth and 14th streets on the boardwalk and downtown Asbury Avenue.

On Sunday, May 7, the Ocean City Historical Museum will host a Sunday Brunch Buffet. The buffet is at 12:30 p.m. at Clancy’s By The Bay in Somers Point.

Paul Anselm will give a brief presentation on “Stormy Weather in Ocean City.” Tickets are $25 for museum members, and $27 for the general public. They can be purchased at the museum, or by calling 609-399-1801.
Other events set for the opening weekend of May include:

‘WILD WEST’ PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBIT (May 1-31): Photographer Adam Taylor will exhibit images from his explorations of Humboldt County in California all month at the Ocean City Arts Center. For more information, visit www.oceancityartscenter.org.

OCEAN CITY POPS STUDENT COMPETITION (May 3): The seventh annual Esther Weil Student Music Competition will be held at 4 p.m.Wednesday, May 3 on the Ocean City Music Pier (Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace).
