Constance, along with her husband and her brother, Gus Smirles, (1994) owned and operated the Suburban Diner on Route 17 in Paramus until their retirement in 1992. She and Louis loved to travel and to entertain, and they also were generous contributors to various charities.
She was a cherished member and benefactor of St. Athanasios Church in Paramus.

She had a special place in her heart for the members of the Saddle River Police and EMT’s, who always treated her with such respect and compassion she was very grateful that they were always there when she needed them.
