County To Discuss Future Of Parks System In Paramus This Month
Officials are developing a master plan for the 10,000-acre system with help from Rutgers University.

PARAMUS, N.J. — Residents can voice their opinions about the Bergen County parks system this month at a series of community forums, which are part of a plan create a master plan for the 70-year-old system, including one in Paramus.
The developing plan for the 35-park system is the result of a partnership between the county and Rutgers University. The master plan will help establish short- and long-term priorities for the parks system. Officials hope the plan better meets residents' needs for recreational and open spaces.
The county has been seeking input from stakeholders and residents using online surveys as the project progresses.

An information session will be held in Paramus Jan. 18 at the Bergen County Special Services school district building at 540 Fairview Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m. Other sessions will be held this month in Closter, Mahwah, Lyndhurst and River Vale.
