Fairway Market Recalls Candy Corn Over Allergy Concerns

The company said the product contains undeclared eggs.

PARAMUS, N.J. — Fairway Market is voluntarily recalling its candy corn because it may contain eggs.

People who have an allergic reaction to egg run the risk of "serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume" the candy corn, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced.

The candy corn was distributed at Fairway stores in New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. Fairway's New Jersey stores are located in Paramus and Woodland Park.

The candy corn is packaged in clear, plastic cello bags of varying weights, each weighing less than one pound with item code 228402.

The company has stopped selling the candy corn and corrected the labeling.

Consumers who purchased the candy corn should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions may contact the company at 646-616-8265 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
