Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum to Present "Art and the Animal Tour"
Acclaimed Oradell, NJ wildlife art museum's latest exhibit features work by the Society of Animal Artists from November 18 to February 10
The acclaimed Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum in Oradell, NJ will proudly host its latest exhibit, the “Art and the Animal Tour,” featuring outstanding artwork and sculptures from members of the Society of Animal Artists. The exhibit will run from November 18, 2023 through February 10, 2024.
The Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum is recognized by wildlife conservationists, artists, and art lovers worldwide as one of only five museums in the U.S. to exclusively display wildlife art. The historic 1893 cedar shingle and turret carriage house, perched high on a hill overlooking the Hackensack River and the Oradell Reservoir, was founded in 1957 as a natural history museum by the Blauvelt-Demarest Foundation. The venue serves as a legacy of the philanthropist, conservationist, and collector Hiram Blauvelt, who contributed his private wildlife art and big game collections from around the world to promote the cultural value of wildlife art and the need for the conservation of wildlife and their habitats.
The Society of Animal Artists is an association of more than 525 talented painters and sculptors, residing in 25 countries, who work in the genre of animal art, illustrating the entire spectrum of the animal kingdom. The society is dedicated to portraying our living heritage and its preservation through demonstrations, seminars, lectures, and exhibitions.

The Hiram Blauvelt Art Museum display will be the Society of Animal Artists’ 63rd Annual Art and the Animal Exhibition and Tour and is one of only four venues throughout the country that are scheduled to host to exhibition through the fall of 2024. It features artwork that is selected in a highly competitive jury process, with pieces that capture wild and domestic creatures both great and small, on land, sea, and air, in a wide range of media and artistic expressions.
