Hooters Closed After 'Deplorable' Conditions Found At Paramus Restaurant: Report
Inspectors found several major violations at the restaurant, the Associated Press reported.

PARAMUS, N.J. — Backed-up plumbing and "deplorable" conditions led to the Hooters in Paramus being closed, according to a lawsuit involving Hooters of America and Hoot Owl Restaurants.
Franchisee Hoot Owl Restaurants is damaging the Hooters brand by failing health inspections at multiple locations, including the Paramus one on Route 17, the report stated, citing the lawsuit.
Inspectors found several major violations at the restaurant, according to the lawsuit, including "plumbing backup present all throughout the basement," the report stated.

A Hooters executive went to the Paramus location to examine the restaurant, but a representative of the franchise operator refused to let him inside, according to the lawsuit.
Hooters wants a federal judge to decide what states govern its franchise agreements with Hoot Owl so that it can terminate them, the report stated.
