The hospital’s owners and managers are celebrating these accomplishments with a series of Nurses Appreciation Week activities which started yesterday with the first annual super hero uniform decoration contest.

“The saying that ‘not all heroes wear capes’ is particularly clear when you walk through the halls of Hudson Regional Hospital and see the care and expertise that our nurses show to our patients and doctors,” said Dr. Nizar Kifaieh, MD, MBA, CPE, FACEP, President and CEO of Hudson Regional Hospital. “Our nursing staff is a major reason why we’re attracting more top-tier doctors and earning the trust of Hudson County residents needing healthcare services.”

“This cohesive nursing unit creates a community within the hospital that drives the exceptional attention to our patients’ needs, and allows us to recruit a higher caliber of nurses who want to be a part of this cultural paradigm we’ve incorporated into our service model. ” said Felicia Karsos, RN, MBA, Chief Nursing Officer for Hudson Regional Hospital. “One of the first things that Hudson Regional Hospital tackled when it took over this facility in January 2018 was settling a long-standing contract stalemate with nurses. Treating our staff with dignity was the starting point for an era of mutual respect and support.”

Additional on-site appreciation activities this May 6-12th including free massages in the nurse’s break rooms, personally delivered cupcakes, raffles, gifts, and a Hawaiian luau-themed party where the staff will be recognized by hospital and Union leaders.

Hudson Regional Hospital is located at the former Meadowlands Hospital facility at 55 Meadowlands Parkway in Secaucus. For more information about Hudson Regional Hospital, visit www.hudsonregionalhospital.com or call (201) 392-3100.
