July Joy: Fun-Filled Activities and Celebrations at Juniper!

Juniper Village at Paramus, a premier assisted living community, located in Bergen County, NJ, spent the month of July reveling in a series of heartwarming and engaging activities. The vibrant Juniper community is known for its dedication to creating enriching experiences for its residents, and July was no exception.

Kicking off the month with a spirit of volunteering, Juniper Village rallied their wonderful residents, staff, and neighbors throughout July to donate essential items for local students preparing for the new school year. Embracing the spirit of giving, Juniper hosted a “Pasta with a Purpose” event, sending home pasta with those who donated as a heartfelt thank you. All donations were delivered to Oasis – Haven for Women and Children in Paterson, NJ. Generous contributions included pencils, pens, erasers, highlighters, markers, notebooks, folders, and backpacks, ensuring students step into the classroom with confidence!

Sparking intergenerational conversations, Konnekt Global, a youth-run nonprofit organization spent a heartwarming afternoon with residents. Together, they made cards, played games, and shared stories, creating cherished memories.

Unleashing their inner artists, residents got crafty. Embracing patriotism, community members created decorations for their door doting red, white, and blue. Stunning light-up lighthouse mason jars were also painted, celebrating the summer spirit.

A month of festivities wouldn't be complete without sweet treats. The Red Hat Society of Paramus beat the summer heat with Rita’s Water Ice, gathering to enjoy refreshing treats while reminiscing about past summer adventures. Honoring National Ice Cream Day, residents, employees, and families indulged in sundaes, courtesy of the talented Dining Team at Juniper.

Pampering the residents, the fabulous GlamourGirls came to visit. Residents were able to enjoy makeovers and manicures, leaving everyone feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Adding to nurturing the physical and mental wellness of residents, the wonderful Jane brough the energy with a wonderful Zumba class. Residents sang and danced!

Wrapping up the month, Juniper celebrated Christmas in July with a holiday-themed Zumba dance party that had everyone up and moving. Delicious frozen hot chocolate was served, and the afternoon turned competitive with Christmas in July-themed Bingo.
