Local Dance Company Twirls into the Hearts of Seniors

March 16, 2023 (Paramus, NJ) – Juniper Communities, a leading provider of senior living communities, Paramus location was recently entertained by a local dance company.

The Terpsichore Dance Company from Mariann’s School of Dance twirled and spun to the delights of the seniors at Juniper Village at Paramus on February 25, 2023. About 10 routines in the dance genres of ballet, lyrical/contemporary, tap, hip-hop, acrobatics, and musical theater were performed. A total of 35 dancers displayed their talents and ranged in age from 5 to 18.

“The residents absolutely enjoyed every part of it,” says Juniper Village at Paramus’ Connections Director, Everlin Kim.

Mariann’s School of Dance is owned and operated by Paramus native Mariann Paul.

About Mariann’s School of Dance

Mariann Paul was inspired to start her own dance studio when she was just a teen living in Paramus. Two afternoons a week she would come home from high school and teach ballet and jazz to 23 local friends and neighbors in the basement of her parents’ home. She never dreamed that what started as an afterschool part time job would become a lifetime passion for bringing the gift of dance to so many girls and boys in Bergen County. In 1982 Mariann’s School of Dance was officially established in a location in Oradell and has been growing ever since with the distinctive energy and spirit of its dancers, teachers and staff. Today, through the wonderful enthusiasm and support of the community, the studio offers over 70 dance classes per week. After 10 years in Oradell, the studio has come full circle, returning to our location in Paramus just a mile from Mariann’s parents’ house where it all began over 35 years ago.
