National Down Syndrome Congress Honors NJ Entrepreneur

On July 28th, the National Down Syndrome Congress (NDSC) hosted the annual NDSC awards, presented at the NDSC Convention held in Phoenix, Arizona. These prestigious awards honor individuals and organizations with outstanding service and dedication to the Down syndrome community. The National Social Connection Award was accepted by New Jersey resident, Taryn Lagonigro, on behalf of Extra Lucky Moms, an inspiring initiative run by Taryn and Jess Quarello. This award recognizes the exceptional use of social media to connect the Down syndrome community and foster a greater understanding of Down syndrome and those who live with it.

"Receiving the National Social Connection Award is an incredible honor," said Taryn. "It
affirms our mission to create a supportive and inclusive community for individuals with all
disabilities and their families, including the Down syndrome community. We are deeply
grateful to the NDSC for this recognition and will continue to strive for greater understanding
and acceptance."

Both Taryn and Jess are committed to inspiring inclusion in every aspect, with a particular
focus on disability. Their mission extends to nurturing caregivers on their disability journeys
and elevating voices within the disability community through various platforms including
social media, their podcast, and a corporate speaking program.

Honored with the 2024 National Down Syndrome Congress Social Media Award, Taryn
continues to collaborate in various ways to craft authentic, engaging narratives. She leverages
her unique blend of skills as a storyteller, wellness instructor, and disability advocate to make
a meaningful impact.

Taryn Lagonigro is a passionate storyteller, corporate leader, and yoga and meditation
instructor who has dedicated her life to advocating for inclusion and supporting the disability
community. Her journey took a transformative turn in 2019 when she learned that the baby
she was carrying would be born with Down syndrome and this life-changing moment inspired
Taryn to co-found Extra Lucky Moms and Iris Yoga, as well as to establish Four Clovers
