Paramus Girls Basketball Team Defeats Hackensack
The Spartans improve to 2-2 after a 77-62 win over the Comets.

Powered by senior Kristina Meier's double-double (25 points, 18 rebounds) and freshman Brittany Stone's 22 points, the girls' basketball team defeated Hackensack (1-4) on Thursday afternoon. Stephanie Huang also chipped in with 18 points.
Paramus fell behind 22-7 after the first quarter of play.
"We really woke up before the half," Paramus head coach Vic DiPasquale said of his team's 31 second quarter ouput.

"We stopped turning the ball over, made our shots, put on a press and caused turnovers and scored off steals," DiPasquale added.
In the second quarter, the Spartan defense limited the Comets to just nine points.

"When she's not scoring, Meier is the glue on defense," DiPasquale said of his senior guard, who had four steals in the contest.
Paramus (2-2) outscored Hackensack 39-31 in the second half, and finished with a season high 77 points.
Each Spartan starter hit from long range: Huang, Meier, Stone, Lauren Holden and Victoria Agnello recorded one trey apiece. Meier scored 14 of her 25 points from free throw line. Stone grabbed eight boards. Holden pitched in with nine points, while Agnello added her lone three-pointer.
"If we play together as a team, we can win games," DiPasquale said.
