Route 4 Crash Victim Had Just Graduated High School, Family Says

A vigil was held for the women in Paramus Sunday night, according to a report. A campaign was set up to help the family pay for her funeral.

PARAMUS, NJ — The community is mourning two young women who were killed in a crash on Route 4 near the Bergen Town Center Mall in Paramus.

A vigil was held Sunday at Century Field in Garfield in remembrance of Jenna DiSclafani,, 19, and her best friend. Authorities have not identified the second victim, but NorthJersey.com has reported her name was Mariah Gomez.

DiSclafani, had just graduated from Garfield High School this year, according to a GoFundMe page established to help her family pay for her funeral. More than $2,100 was donated in three hours.

"I always wanted to be like her," Brittany Graff, DiSclafani's cousin, told ABC7. "She always made me smile, and I always looked up to her."

"Jennah Mae DiSclafani was a beloved daughter to Debi and Joe and sister to Joe Jr. Please help us help this beautiful family bury their daughter," Michele Petrillo said on the campaign's page.

DiSclafani and another woman died when the Ford Mustang they were in rolled over and crashed outside the mall at about 1 a.m., Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal previously said.

The car's four occupants were ejected from the vehicle; besides DiSclafani, another woman whose identity has not been released, died from her injuries at Hackensack University Medical Center, the prosecutor said.

The crash remains under investigation.

Tributes to DiSclafani and condolences to her family were posted online.
