WATCH: Paramus Bus Crash Victim Gets Surprise From NY Rangers

Breaking: Brendan O'Callaghan and 42 others from East Brook Middle School were injured, some critically, in a horrific bus crash this week.

PARAMUS, NJ — It was a team effort that brought so much joy to a boy who went through something no one ever should.

Brendan O'Callaghan was one of the 43 people injured during the horrific Paramus school bus crash on Interstate 80 this week. He has been recovering in the hospital and got a special package on Saturday.

O'Callaghan received an autographed goalie stick from his hockey idol, Henrik Lundqvist, and a signed card from the New York Rangers, his father posted on Facebook.

"This made his day seem so much brighter for him the most alert I've seen him," Arnie O'Callaghan's Brendan's father, said in the post. "Keep praying for all the families and kids who were involved in this horrific accident. The support has been tremendous throughout friends, family, [the] community, and staff of Paramus' East Brook Middle School. My family can't thank you all enough."

Arnie O'Callaghan thanked Kevin Moran from Paramus Hockey and Dan Meyers, another local hockey supporter for "making this moment happen."

East Brook Principal Tommy LoBue and staffers Dana Focarelli, Chris Nutlend, and Paramus Police L.E.A.D.S. Officer Ben Fox visited Brendan in the hospital and presented him with the gifts. Arnie O'Callaghan's father reached out to the Rangers, he said.

"He remembered every one of you and I could feel his happiness when you all showed up," O'Callaghan said.

Miranda Faith Vargas, 10, and Jennifer Wiliamson-Kennedy, 51, a fifth-grade teacher, died in the crash.

O'Callaghan shared a message he received reportedly from one of the first police officers who arrived at the crash.
