4 Candidates Vie for 3 Seats in Parsippany School Board Election
Two incumbents seek re-election, one will let term expire; former member trying to find way back onto board.

There aren’t as many candidates running this year, but the campaign will likely be fierce in Parsippany.
Three seats on the Board of Education are up for grabs in the November General Election, and four residents have thrown their hats into the ring.
After the 4 p.m. Monday deadline came and went, two incumbents, one newcomer, and one former board member have marked their spot on the ballot for Nov. 3.

Current board member Michael Pietrowicz will let his term expire at the end of 2015 without seeking re-election.

Newcomer Louis Maccarella has also filed a petition to run, and former board member Susy Golderer is trying to find her way back onto the board.
Golderer received the fourth most votes in the November 2014 election, when six candidates battled over three seats. That election saw just one of three incumbents – Tim Berrios – retain a seat on the board, while newcomers Andrew Choffo and George Blair joined him.
Golderer and then-incumbent Sharif Shamsudin were not re-elected.
This year’s General Election is Nov. 3, with polls open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
