5-Hour Stand-Off At Parsippany Hotel Ends With Man Hospitalized: Cops
Police had reason to believe that the barricaded man, who was making threats, was armed with a gun, officials said.
PARSIPPANY, NJ — A five-hour stand-off in Parsippany on Tuesday ended with a man being taken to the hospital, according to police.
On Tuesday, around 11 a.m., police were called to the Parsippany Inn and Suites on Route 10 on reports of a possible mental health crisis.
Police said a man had barricaded himself in a room, was possibly armed, and was making threats.

The incident prompted a notice from the Parsippany Police Department for motorists to avoid the area.
Due to the suspect possibly having a gun, the Morris County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team was activated to assist local police.

After about five hours, the suspect exited the room and was taken to the Morristown Medical Center for treatment.
Authorities found no weapons on the man or in his room, police said.
No charges have been filed as of Wednesday morning.
