PARSIPPANY, NJ ā State officials set a goal for 70 percent of New Jersey's adults to get fully vaccinated by the end of June. On a local level, Parsippany reached the threshold with more than a month to spare.
Seventy percent of Parsippany's adults are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Monday morning, according to state data.
Parsippany has been more successful than most New Jersey towns in getting vaccinated, according to analysis from NJ Advance Media. The township ranked ninth in the state May 15 in terms of residents with at least one vaccine dose.

Several Parsippany residents are also awaiting their final dose. Fifty-seven percent of people (of all ages) have completed the vaccination process. Sixty-seven percent have received one dose, suggesting a portion of the population is awaiting their second dose.
The Morris County Division of Public Health reported only four new Parsippany cases in the past week. Officials have reported 4,326 infections and 109 COVID deaths in the township since the pandemic began.

The Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines are available for adults. People 12 and older are eligible for the Pfizer vaccine.
