Brickyard Field at Bee Meadow

Ride a gondola, climb to your hearts content or enjoy an old fashioned tire swing

Just over the Parsippany border into Whippany, in the same park and complex as , you'll find Bee Meadow Park and a wonderfully equipped and fenced playground named Brickyard Field.

This playground is unique in that it fences in the toddler area, swings and equipment separately from the area meant for kids age five through 12.  In the toddler area the ground cover is rubber matting instead of mulch. Both of these features make this a great destination for little ones still a little wobbly on their feet.

On the "big kid" side you'll find a really cool gondola ride.  A covered seat hangs from a pole attached to a wooden platform with a hand crank. Turn the crank to send the gondola from one side to another.

A tire swing, a wooden climbing wall and lots of tubes and nets make this spot a big hit with little monkeys.

There's a picnic table or two outside the playground, a port-a-john, a little gazebo and a water fountain to help extend your stay.

The town football field is in the same complex, along with a pretty pond at the entrance to the park.

If you didn't pack a picnic lunch, no worries, head back out to Route 10 and you'll find plenty of options. And, if you get rained out, no worries: Chuck-E-Cheese, Funplex, AMC Theatres and Diamond Gymnastics' Rock Climbing Wall all provide options for indoor entertainment.
