Daughter Killed Mom While Baby Girl Was In Parsippany Home: Cops

The woman was charged with first-degree murder for the stabbing death of her mother while her infant daughter was nearby, prosecutors say.

A daughter fatally stabbed her mother in New Jersey this week while her infant daughter was in the house, according to prosecutors.

Lila Lucariello, 33, of Parsippany was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of her mother at her Meadowbrook Gardens apartment in Parsippany. She was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to the Morris County Prosecutor's Office.

The incident happened at approximately 8:27 a.m. on Saturday when members of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department were dispatched to 3579 Route 46 eastbound, Apt. 57B, in Parsippany on a 911 call, according to prosecutors.

Upon arrival, officers located the body of Lucariello's mother inside the apartment. The woman was identified as Salwa Kahn-Tamr, 58, of Prospect Park, according to the MCPO.

Lucariello’s husband had contacted 911 after returning home that morning and finding the victim. Lucariello was also located inside the apartment, according to the MCPO.

Lucariello was taken into the custody at the apartment. A knife believed to be used by the Lucariello to inflict the fatal injuries was also collected from the apartment, according to the MCPO.

Investigators determined that the Lucariello had been in the apartment with her mother and her infant daughter during the overnight hours when the fatal stabbing occurred, according to the MCPO.

An autopsy performed on the victim’s body determined the cause of death to be multiple stab wounds, and the incident was a homicide.

Members of the Parsippany-Troy Hills Police Department, the Morris County Sheriff’s Office – Crime Scene Investigations, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit, and the Morris County Medical Examiner’s Office all took part in this investigation.
