FEMA Center In Morris Co. To Close, But Ida Help Still Available
The center in Morris Plains, which opened in the wake of Ida, will close Wednesday.

MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — The FEMA Disaster Recovery Center in Morris County, which opened in the wake of Hurricane Ida, will close soon. But help is still available, according to the agency.
The federal Disaster Recovery Center for Morris County is located at the Morris Plains Community Center (41 Jim Fear Dr.). Remaining hours include 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Wednesday.
While the site will close, face-to-face assistance is still available. Survivors can find their nearest Disaster Recovery Center online at fema.gov/drc, or text DRC and their current ZIP Code to 43362.

Disaster survivors can still access information and assistance in the following ways: online at DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 800-621-3362 (TTY: 800-462-7585), or download the FEMA app. The toll-free telephone lines currently operate 24/7.

The storm killed 30 people in New Jersey, according to Gov. Phil Murphy. No deaths or missing people were reported in Morris County, but Ida brought significant flooding and damage to the area.
