Former Parsippany Employee, Rescue Chief Dies at 66
James Stefel lived in Parsippany for more than 20 years.

Since moving to Parsippany a quarter-century ago, James Stefel has been a major part of the community.
The former township employee and volunteer died recently at the age of 66, according to his obituary.
Stefel was born in Newark and grew up in Irvington. He moved to Parsippany in 1990, where he worked as a senior maintenance repairman. He also served as a past chief and life member of the Parsippany Rescue & Recovery.

Stefel is survived by his wife, Ruthann; a son and his wife; a step-son; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by a son and a daughter.
