Friends of the Library Donate Coffee Nook

Visit the Parsippany Library and Have a Cup of Coffee (or Tea) While You Read!

Time for coffee! And what better place to have a cuppa joe than at the Parsippany Library’s new Coffee Nook. Donated by the Friends of the Library, the Coffee Nook is now open for those who want to research, browse or just relax with a warm drink and a good book.

And for those who prefer an option to coffee (even flavored), there’s also latte, tea and hot chocolate. All drinks are $2 and cover the cost of operation.

The Coffee Nook has been a long-standing vision of library director, Melissa Kuzma. She knew from her research at other libraries that it could become a gathering place to bring the community together as well as provide another way to appreciate a trip to the library.

this project possible. Their support continues to help us create a warm and welcoming space for everyone. Thank you, Friends of the Library, for making this dream a reality.”

Parsippany social media has long been filled with requests for a “coffee place” to relax and either meet with like-minded friends or just “chill” alone.

Theresa Troiano, Friends member, says, “It is a wonderful asset to the Library. What's better than coffee and a book!”

Fellow Friend Brenda Jackson adds, “I love the library Reading Parties, and it will really work out great to enjoy a cup of coffee with my novel.”

Membership Coordinator, Praveena Grover, appreciated the quality and taste of the offerings. “I am very picky about my coffee, but this was the best latte that I have ever had from a machine,” she said. And newly minted Friend Carol Meyer, was equally impressed. “I was really excited to have the first cup of coffee after the ribbon cutting. Lavazza Coffee is one of my favorite brands,” she added.

Nicholas Jackson, Head of Information Services, summed up the sentiments of the library staff when he said, “It is wonderful to be able to offer coffee and tea to our many customers who spend so much time studying and working in the Library.”
