Garland Jeffreys Rocks The Towne Tavern

Small but passionate audience went wild in the streets for the veteran rocker

Rock legend gave a big performance for a small crowd at Sunday night. Performing many of his old and new classics, including "I'm Alive," "Ghostwriter" and "Wild in the Streets," the artist was in strong voice and was received enthusiastically by those present, as was sideman Al Friedman, who has accompanied the artist on guitar for more than 40 years.

Opening the show with a riveting, rocking set were Debra Devi of the New Jersey band Devi and James Mastro of Bongos fame.

The concert, sponsored by , won't be the last, according to promoter Brett Bickley.
