Here's How Much Parsippany Is Getting Vaccinated, By Age Range

PARSIPPANY, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Health released more age-demographic data for each town's vaccination rates. The numbers paint a clearer picture of how many people in each age group are — or aren't — getting the shots in each town, including Parsippany.

The township has recorded some of the state's highest vaccination rates. The state set a goal for 70 percent of adults to get fully vaccinated by around the end of June, and Parsippany made the mark in late May. Eighty-five percent of Parsippany's adults are fully vaccinated as of Monday afternoon.

But Morris County has seen an unpick in cases recently as the delta variant spreads in New Jersey. The county averaged 37 new cases per day from July 26 to Monday — weeks after never exceeding 10 cases any day in July until the seventh, when the state health department reported 13 infections.

As the world continues to fight against COVID-19, here are Parsippany's vaccination numbers:

• At least one dose, as of Monday afternoon: 78 percent of all ages, 91 percent of adults, 92 percent of people 30 and over, 100 percent of seniors.
• At least one dose, four weeks ago: 76 percent of all ages, 89 percent of adults, 91 percent of people 30 and over, 99 percent of seniors.
• Fully vaccinated, as of Monday afternoon: 71 percent of all ages, 84 percent of adults, 85 percent of people 30 and over, 95 percent of seniors.
• Fully vaccinated, four weeks ago: 69 percent of all ages, 81 percent of adults, 83 percent of people 30 and over, 93 percent of seniors.

County officials have reported 38 new cases in Parsippany since July 22, bringing the town to 4,336 cases since the pandemic began.
