How Much Is COVID Spreading In Morris County?

Hospitalizations leveled off in New Jersey this week, but Morris County saw a slight uptick in new daily cases.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Morris County continued to see a slight increase in the rate of new coronavirus cases, averaging 75.7 per day in the past week — compared to 70.3 new cases per day the prior week.

But what does that mean for the spread of the virus in each town? See town-by-town statistics below.

In terms of hospitalizations, New Jersey remains just above the 1,000 mark at 1,054 as of Friday afternoon. Last week, the Garden State surpassed 1,000 active COVID hospitalizations for the first time since mid-May — more than triple July 1's total of 306. The New Jersey Department of Health only reported an increase of 32 hospitalizations in the past week.

Statewide, 47.67 percent of ICU beds are in use. Here's where Morris County's hospitals stand, according to the Department of Health and Human Services: 31.87 percent of ICU beds are available at Morristown Medical Center, 69.23 percent are empty at Saint Clare's Hospital's Denville Campus, and 65.12 percent are unoccupied at the Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains.
