Lanidex Warehouse Proposal Shows Big Disconnect w Community and Sense

Not a warehouse totally inappropriate. Last Council Meeting it was stated that the Resolution was merely for the redevelopment alone, this was disingenuous listening to the Mayor who was openly promoting a warehouse, with Council assuring all necessary to curb impacts of the warehouse would be met; impossible!
$100,000 alleged rateable to ruin a neighborhood, is not worth it. In part of the area housing has been constructed, so-called affordable. People living there certainly do not deserve this.
Mayor Barberio also stated someday perhaps Parsippany could buy the historic house, as if that was a solution in allowing a warehouse. Councilman Musella reasoned because public housing was already in the Landex Area, this somehow justified the warehouse. so any future residents there are persona non grata . There was also a promotion of Housing brings unwanted children, and criminals, as the Mayor's reasoning was another tax ratable can bring more police not lower or stable taxes. None of these promoted fears, can be substantiated.
The Mayor's rhetoric on developers lawsuits are frivolous. If we stand our ground, which we have not, we follow housing policies, which do not take sensitive areas, nor force anything on any community that performs there responsibilities, as we have already. Families today are small in such conditions of struggle, yet fear of children filling our schools is promoted.

Fear of Lawsuits; Really?

Parsippany didn't seem to mind (had no choice) in the former Captain Carifi lawsuits to nowhere under former attorney Inglesino, and it was his working for developers, and being paid by Parsippany taxpayers, that allowed waterview to ignore the No Rezone , 26+ acres promise of open space; instead we paid a nasty developer $4-million of local open space funds, for a buffer that could have been zoned under nonstructural stormwater strategies NJSA 7:8-5:31 which the developer would have had to provide. (Waterview's open advocating against public housing; build a mall instead also brought another Inglesino caused lawsuit). Inglesino gave the green-light to RD (waterview-wholefoods) when he dismissed their case against the mall "without prejudice" allowing the developer to return with a lawsuit for Public Housing. Why if he was employed by Parsippany, and open space was promised after the grassroots no rezone vote? The history of this shameful episode can still be found.

Whatever happened to being frugal, and what good has the rateable chase done Parsippany if taxes keep rising, and water/sewer is still being used for other purposes? The whole same Fear of Public Housing tactic to help corporate developers is continuing. Mayor Council say they are not against the Public Housing, although their words tell another story.
We are zoned for said housing, and our last master-plan, which was done with public participation seems now not to be respected. It was former Governor Christie who threw the housing crisis to the developers, rather than stick to a science of smart growth, and regional local quotas. Most of the housing is not affordable, which makes no sense.Many vacant spaces remain because of lack of affordability. Parsippany seems to be back in the rule of corporate real estate, not what is best for the community, the warehouse proposal proves it.
