Barricaded Dad Threatened To Hurt His Kids Inside Parsippany Hotel: Prosecutor
The man called 911 threatening to hurt the children, the prosecutor's office said.
PARSIPPANY, NJ— A Parsippany man told police he was going to harm his children before barricading himself inside a hotel room, the Morris County Prosecutor Fredric M. Knapp said in a statement Thursday afternoon.
Jamel Taylor, 33, called 911 Wednesday morning, telling operators he was going to hurt his children. Police found him barricaded inside a room with his children at the Travelodge Inn in Parsippany (prosecutors did not say how many children Taylor has).
The Morris County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team responded and were able to get inside the room to arrest Taylor. No one was injured, Knapp said.

Taylor was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, and the incident remains under investigation.
The incident set off a flurry of police activity Wednesday morning, raising questions in the area.
