Optimum Internet Sub-Contractors Need to be Fined!
Would have been so easy to store waste in buckets and properly dispose.
As of last year Cable System Upgrades have been performed by various subcontractors hired by Optimum Cable.
These Non-Union rogue contractors many of foreign origins, and possibly imported for the low wages, are routinely allowed to trash and pollute their areas throughout the State. Any inspection of their work sites will reveal tossed materials, wires, cables, industrial plastic wire-ties, and metal hardware. We can also add to the trash left, their lunch bulk to-go boxes & take-out containers, including plastic utensils.
There is no excuse for allowing this disrespect of community and environment. Allowing such a workforce to go unaccountable and poorly supervised, in their work practices, in order to increase the profits of the cable internet corporations. Optimum is a telecommunications brand owned and operated by Altice USA. It is the fourth-largest cable provider in the United States and a Fortune 500 company.
"Some" of the crews are Union; these crews are the ones who are accountable and responsible in their work practices. They appropriately retrieve the material in buckets and return the material for proper recycle or disposal. The hired cheap labor rogues, use our community and landscapes for their convenient disposal.
Ironic and revealing that many of these crews are escorted by local police forces; the police do absolutely nothing to stop these blatant violations of littering and dumping ordinances. Having been told at a Parsippany Council meeting, when voicing a concern about this, was told, " the police are not their for that". Really? So Police apparently have no duty or concerns with quality of life issues? One may ask what good will hiring more police do for community integrity, or helping to instill proper behavior by corporate contractors?
Optimum Cable apparently has not instilled any ethic, or moral obligation into these hired contractors, and are allowing them to debase our common places; without any State, County or Municipal authority to object or challenge them. Apathy reigns on all levels. Apparently our roadsides are so trashed these contractors feel at liberty to add to the mess without conscience, making things worse.
Chances our cable fees will increase, after the work; however no abatement of the waste left by these mismanaged crews will occur; a Bad Job rewarded. Add the tax dollars we invest in our Municipal Supervisors and officials who having been told have not addressed this uncivil behavior by the Fortune 500 wealthy beyond any economy hired rogue, non-union, imported contractors.
Never in the history of democratic societies has the populace been more removed from the decision-making process than it is today. Our Collective Global future is being made behind closed doors by trade representatives-appointed officials with the blessing of amorphous, transnational corporations.
Truth be told all too many work forces do not practice conscience disciplines, and what are we paying our supervisory white collars officials for? Please take corrective action!
