PARSIPPANY, NJ — The Parsippany community is coming together to support a family who has “lost everything” in a major house fire this weekend.

Early Saturday morning, fire officials were called to a residence on Westminster Drive on reports of a structure fire.

Parsippany fire officials said they arrived to find “multiple vehicles on fire and heavy fire throughout most of the home.”

Firefighters braced the frigid temperatures and dealt with frozen fire hydrants to get the blaze under control, officials added.

The fire was eventually extinguished hours later, but the home was left destroyed.

No injuries were reported in the blaze. The cause of the fire has not been announced at this time.

Now, the community is rallying for the homeowners, the Rojas Family, who are navigating the loss of nearly all of their possessions.

“The Rojas Family is facing the overwhelming and heartbreaking reality of starting over from scratch,” a GoFundMe reads. “They are a hardworking, loving family raising two wonderful children: a daughter in third grade and a son currently in college. Like any family, they were focused on school, work, and everyday life. Now, they are navigating temporary housing, replacing basic necessities like clothing and school supplies, and figuring out transportation after losing both vehicles.”

Money raised through the fundraiser will help the family afford temporary housing, clothes, school supplies, transportation costs, and other immediate needs.

So far, the effort has raised more than $17,000 for the family.
