Police Officer Sent To Hospital After Woman Bit, Kicked During Arrest: Parsippany Police

The officer had an injury to his shoulder and bite injuries, police said.

PARSIPPANY, NJ — A Parsippany Police officer was sent to the hospital this weekend, after being bit by a woman under arrest.

Jessica Rosewall, 30, from Fairfield, is accused of biting and kicking Parsippany police officers during her arrest for outstanding traffic warrants Sunday afternoon, police said.

Police were called to a local hotel after Rosewall refused to check out. Police told her she had outstanding warrants, and allegedly became belligerent, and actively resisted arrest. While they were attempting to handcuff her, police say Rosewall bit an officer.

She was transported to police headquarters, and while being placed in a holding cell, kicked and punched officers, police said. She also damaged a closed circuit camera in the cell.

One officer was taken by ambulance to Morristown Medical Center for a shoulder injury and a bite injury.

Rosewell was charged with 3 counts of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest, obstruction of the administration of law, and criminal mischief. She also had criminal warrants from Ocean County Sheriff's Office, Carteret, and Parsippany, and a traffic warrant from Parsippany.
