Proposed Flawed Forest Plan Moves to Committee
Greenwashing happening in these documents and in the actions that the DEP promotes. Recurring Forest Threatened by Private interest
Sparta Mountain Continues, Flawed NJ Forest Management Plan moves to a Committee, without Moratorium. Proforestation somehow escaped NJDEP's approach, while Governor speaks of Climate?
Greenwashing happening in these documents and in the actions that the DEP promotes.
A sort of "competitive exclusion" is occurring within NJDEP in the interest of business, not science or their entrusted mission . Why is a commission necessary to counter a State Agency's Plan or obviously flawed management approach or obsolete paradigm, stemming from paid, NJDEP officials. NJ-Senator Smith Committee has been invoked to do the job that NJDEP has failed to do, although the science, knowledge and wisdom of the science of "pro-forestation" exists, as does sustainable paradigms for the future of mankind. Competitive exclusion: the process by which a very competitive species excludes other species from an ecosystem. In this case we have NJ Audubon and NJDEP excluding known science for private interest in legally poaching recurring old growth in public forest. How many trees already are taken from private lands and from now occurring disease, and blights?
Let see if we can get away with it again this time even more
So it's sort of when we look back on Sparta Mountain, NJ Audubon, and the former Anti-Highlands, Anti-Pineland, Anti-Ecological in general administration of Chris Christie we clearly see a, "what we got away with already, and let's see now if we can even get away with more openly using State Authority to subvert public trust legally in the favor of continued business interesest over the public trust and science".

It's up to the public interest now to compete with NJDEP, and NJ-Audubon to dismantle this economic, not ecological plan. The state is so broke that the "remaining resources" entrusted to it, have to be marketed for chump change to support it's infrastructure, and infrastructure that promotes continued abuse and degradation of the resource. Rather than have an increased tax base for open space and additional forces to protect and enhance our remaining natural resources.
No Sides in Climate
State Senator Smith's Committee can not and must not be used for any compromise with these Lumber interest, or false pretext's of forest that do not apply to NJ and it's various "physiographic zones"

Mocking the Green, Just a bird in a gilded cage, what a beautiful site to see.
How do you make habitat for a golden-winged-warbler? by using heavily equipment, and creating a world war one battlefield-landscapes, break all the rules, take any tree, crush any other biome in your way, all with no overseer or supervision from NJDEP, and not held accountable, a complete and total unecological paradigm. A mocking of the Green, a total insult done with malice intent. We keep proving that we are a flawed species, because the green is the green of money, not ecology the fiber of life.
Oh; and by-the- way this is occurring in the Core of the Remaining Highlands Protection Area. Please explain how it is not a violation of the NJ Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act 2004?
NJ-Highlands Water Protection and Planning Act Rules. The Department anticipates that the Regional Master Plan will address the components necessary to protect the natural, scenic, and other Highlands resources, including but not limited to,forests, wetlands, stream corridors, steep slopes, and critical habitat for fauna and floraN.J.S.A. 13:20-1
Elliot Ruga's Editorial letter of April 10, 2022 Star Ledger, "The ghost of Christie's policies lingers in the Highlands"
What NJ needs is another person of the likes of former Governor Thomas Kean, who truly put NJ first, NJ being it's remaining lands, waters and historical places. Governor James Florio who exposed the abuse by Industry and market forces that constantly allow degradation of the State's natural wonders remaining. Murphy fails to step into these shoes, and idles like a emission gas collecting in his time, as he speaks of climate change as a political rhetorical hype only, wanting to be all things to all people. (my words here not Elliot's)
Christie was, will Murphy also be?
Christie's was most likely the worse Governor for his time and place here in NJ; Murphy's inaction, and continued laissez fair of not amending Christie's undemocratic and non-transparent weakening of ecological paradigms in favor of private interest will also place him in at category. Christie was a denier of Climate Change as induced by human actions and economy based on fossil fuels; "should of built that pipeline yesterday". Murphy alleges to be concerned with the phenomena, but in words only. Our musical chair two-party system can not afford this continued see-saw; see-no, care-for, care-not insanity. No Sides in Climate.
Law Enforcement Crap Shot Real Problem
The Real Problems facing our "remaining forests" are, invasive plant species (which will only accelerate with this proposed forest plan), ATV type intrusion, Public abuse, trash, graffiti, lack of Law Enforcements; 4-officers to cover the whole northern region of NJ, are more gas burners than effective Johnny on the spots when blatant abuses are occurring. We have turned nature our common places into "recreational consumption spas, and dog parks" when we leave our remains, as nature becomes a de-facto trash dump; supporting a weakness of mind and body; for how weak does one need be not to be able to carry their empty plastic bottle or can, after consumption. Negative Freedom is evidently predominate. Therefore Forest Management becomes another case for human-restraint, as in nature self-organization manages, we must learn to practice enlightened self -restraint especially in our government actions. We must bend to the resource, not the resource to us.
Lastly a Moratorium on the continued Sparta Mountain Fiasco needs to be implemented immediately ; if not to explain and the expose the facts of illegality and corruption that allowed this violation of Public Trust. No Forest Management Plan unless it's Proforestation : Strange NJDEP and NJ Audubon seem not to be familiar with the term?
Proforestation is the practice of protecting existing natural forests to foster continuous growth, carbon accumulation, and structural complexity.[1][2] It is recognized as an important forest based strategy for addressing the global crises in climate and biodiversity: Speak Out tell Governor Murphy immediate Moratorium and science not business in our remaining forest.
Sincerely
Hopefully Arbor day will not replace NJ Core Public Forest entrusted to NJDEP.. because something is rotten in NJ Audubon and NJDEP..Murphy Wake Up! Moratorium Now, end Sparta Mountain Fiasco. Proforestation or Bust!..Mature trees sequester more carbon than new trees; new trees that many will not mature..
